English summary: For quite some time now, current aesthetic theorizing has been characterized by an astonishing conjuncture of randomness and the arts have also apparently closed a deal with unpredictability, while on the other hand new "antidotes" have been enlisted in order to resist the unpredictable cases, for instance in legal or statistical contexts. This anthology reviews the tense connections between aesthetics and chance from antiquity to the present, especially with regard to literary texts. Therefore, not only are the promised adjustments, which have been enlisted against the unpredictable, taken into consideration but also the way in which such that make the unpredictable possible: this work, within this context, poses questions about the knowledge-generating function of the unpredictable. In contrast to sciences, which develop knowledge about the object "chance," the medium of "text" is able to reflect principles of the structure of unpredictability in its knowledge-generation function. German description: In der aktuellen asthetischen Theoriebildung ist seit geraumer Zeit eine erstaunliche Konjunktur des Zufalligen zu verzeichnen. Auch die Kunste scheinen einen kreativen Pakt mit dem Unvorhersehbaren geschlossen zu haben, wahrend andererseits neue 'Gegenmittel' in Stellung gebracht werden, um den unvorhersehbaren Einzelfall - etwa in rechtlichen oder statistischen Zusammenhangen - zu bannen. Der Sammelband geht dem spannungsvollen Verhaltnis von Asthetik und Zufall von der Antike bis zur Gegenwart nach, insbesondere im Hinblick auf literarische Texte. Dabei geraten nicht nur die Ordnungsversprechen in den Blick, die gegen den Zufall in Stellung gebracht werden, sondern auch jene Ordnungen, die der Zufall ermoglicht: Im Raum steht die Frage nach der wissensgenerierenden Funktion des Zufalligen. Im Gegensatz zu Wissenschaften, die ein Wissen vom Objekt 'Zufall' entwickeln, vermag das Medium 'Text' Strukturprinzipien des Zufalligen in ihrer wissensgenerierenden Funktion zu reflektieren.
