Lewis, Ray (Author)
Ray Lewis was born on May 15, 1975 in Bartow, Florida. He was raised by his mother. His father was absent most of his life. Ray attended the University of Maryland, where he had a successful college football career as a linebacker. He left college his senior year for the 1996 NFL draft. The Baltimore Ravens selected him and remained with them his entire career (1996-2012). Lewis was their all-time career leader in tackles and fumble recoveries and led the Ravens to victory in Super Bowl XXXV. He was selected for the Pro Bowl thirteen times and was named AFC Defensive Player of the Year three times. He eventually finished his degree in Arts and Sciences at the University of Maryland University College. Currently he is an analyst for the NFL on ESPN. His memoir, I Feel Like Going On: Life, Game, and Glory, was published in 2015.
