These are the declassified Memos by James Comey about his private conversations with President Donald Trump. James Comey served as the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) from September 4, 2013-May 9, 2017. He wrote these formerly classified memos about his private meetings and conversations with Donald J. Trump before he was fired by Donald J. Trump. Comey has said that the President wanted him to pledge personal loyalty to the President Trump and not to the American people and the U.S. Constitution. In addition, Comey alleges that Donald Trump tried to get him to drop the investigation of Micheal Flynn, Trump's first National Security Advisor, who allegedly lied about phone conversations with a Russian Ambassador about sanctions. General Flynn admitted to lying to the FBI and is believed to be a cooperating witness into the Russia probe into the Trump Campaign. James Comey's formerly classified memos were leaked to the media on April 19, 2018. Comey sent these memos after his meetings and conversations with Donald Trump to Deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe, FBI Chief of Staff James E Rybicki, and FBI General Counsel James A. Baker. Comey is hated by Republicans for being the catalyst for the appointment of the special counsel Robert Mueller, another former FBI director, in the Russian investigation. He is hated by Democrats for his public reopening and closing into the Hilary Clinton e-mail investigation within 11 days of the 2016 presidential election. Democrats believe that act handed the election to Donald J. Trump, who lost the popular vote by about 3 million votes despite winning the electoral college.
