In the introduction, we'll walk you through what "unschooling" means. (It's not all radical!) Plus, it's entirely possible to unschool for the early years, and still choose a different educational path when your child reaches school age. It's not either/or. The nitty gritty: Early childhood is broken down by age -- 0 to 2 years, 2 to 4 years, 4 to 6 years, and 6 years and beyond. For each age, there's a guide to what developmental milestones you can expect your child to meet, and how to best stimulate their learning. Each age comes with an activity suggestion guide, plus a list of materials. Throughout the chapters, you'll find some information and advice from a mom of five who's been there -- her kids range in age from 7 to "coming this summer" and she's walked through this early unschooling journey with all of them. Not sure if you want to homeschool -- or know you won't, but want to supplement your child's education at home? The activity suggestions are valuable for you, too.
