Except that something else is also happening, mysterious cocoons forming around children for some unknown purpose, and she is drawn to them. Throughout her ordeal to discover the killer's identity, she also struggles with inner demons she thought she had laid to rest when she was a teenager. In order to catch the killer, she may have to reconcile with the morality she fears to abandon.
