Als Begriff fur eine Wissenschaft der belebten Natur wird Biologie erstmals um 1800 genutzt. Es ist daher nicht selbstverstandlich, dass die Universitat Bonn noch in ihrem Grundungsjahr 1818 eine Vorlesung uber Biologie anbietet.
