I started writing in middle school. My favorite type of writing was poetry, because it expressed what I could not speak in words. More DescriptionI started writing in middle school. My favorite type of writing was poetry, because it expressed what I could not speak in words. My writings became a jumbled mess of a story, describing my desires for love, my views of war, and my views of several other things. My poetry was an expression of raw, undiluted emotion, eventually petering off as I entered college. I kept them hidden in a folder in my desk at home, as any reclusive teen might. Ironically enough, the emotions still festered.I hope you read these well; I hope that when you read them you can relate to them, on some level. I hope that you, as the adult still with your folder hidden, as that antisocial teen still hidden from your peers, and as that young blooming teenager just starting to build your own shell as you enter a larger world, can read these poems and know that you are not alone; I hope that you can look at this meager collection of works and say "hey, maybe life is manageable"; I hope that you realize yourself through reading and relating to my pain; most of all I hope that you find hope, knowing that someone went through something, anything, that you went through, and that they came out of it in one piece, and are even willing to share it with you. Life is worth living, and in writing these poems, growing beyond these poems, and reminiscing these poems, I realized what's worth living for in my life. Now it's your turn.
