Among the sixty-nine works explored in this volume are Orazio Gentileschi's Lute Player, considered his masterpiece; Jusepe de Ribera's Martyrdom of Saint Bartholomew, the Gallery's first work of the school of Naples; and one of Bellotto's largest and most remarkable view paintings, The Fortress of Königstein.
