More DescriptionAudio CD music In 2006, I was invited to perform in Konya at the International Mystic Music Festival to celebrate Rumi's Ascension. It had always been a dream of mine and an honour to stand in that spiritual space of awe and adoration, where Rumi's mystic philosophy and poetry about love and life through a vessel of his existence had reached humanity. Our performance with Ost?d Jal?l Zolfonoon went on for four consecutive years from 2006 to 2009. I felt a strong urge to share his wisdom and poetry through my music, with my fellow man. A sense of duty for the message that had travelled through time, must reach the future generations, hence "Longing for Love" came to life. Longing for Love album includes four songs that have been inspired by Sufi/ritual music as well as Sufi poetry as opposed to the norms of writing music. The other two songs have also been composed by two famous Persian mystical musicians, late Ost?d Jalal Zolfonoon (Setar player) and late Ost?d Abdul Vahab Shahidi (Oud player). These two Sufi songs have been extended and rearranged from a new point of view to be unified with other tunes. As a Sufi musician I'm always looking for creative expression of mystic music, and I found that my good friend Mehdi Danaie, shares the same vision as I. "Longing for Love" project was born. Mehdi Danaie, started to rearrange this album by an orchestral coherence of Piano/strings orchestra and Iranian traditional instruments. Eventually, with the acquaintance of Nooshin Ghayoor an intersection was formed to finalise this album with her unique voice.
