Published in 1863, this biography of Andrew Reed (1787-1862) was compiled by two of his sons, using extracts from his journals. Reed was an ordained Congregational minister, an energetic philanthropist and a campaigner for social reform. He helped to found numerous charitable institutions including the London Orphan Asylum.
