Marilyn Duckworth, writer, was born in Auckland, New Zealand and raised in England.
She has written fiction, nonfiction, poetry and essays. He earliest works, including A Gap in the Spectrum (1959) were influenced by existential writers such as Sartre and Camus. Disorderly Conduct (1985) won the New Zealand Book Award in Fiction. She was also a recipient of a 2016 New Zealand Prime Minister¿s Award for Literary Achievement in the fiction category.
