Lucy Dougan is a poet from Perth, Western Australia. She earned a PhD and has worked in arts administration, teaching, has run workshops for teachers and is a former poetry editor of Heat magazine. She has written commissioned poems for several organizations. Her first book, Memory Shell, was published in 1998 and won the Mart Gilmore Award in 2000. She is a former winner of the Alec Bolton Award. Her other books include White Clay, and The Guardians which won the 2016 WA Premier's Book Awards for Poetry. She currently works for the Westerly Centre at UWA and also teaches in Curtin's creative writing program.
