Richard Roxburgh is an Australian actor, director and writer. He was born in New South Wales in 1962 and is a graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Art. His work in film includes Moulin Rouge!, The Hounds of the Baskervilles, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Van Helsing, and Mission: Impossible II. His work in television includes Blue Murder, Rake, Matching Jack, and East of Everything. He directed Romulus, My Father. On stage, his work includes Hamlet, Company B, Toy Symphony, Uncle Vanya, Waiting for Godot, and Cyrano de Bergerac. In 2016, he published his first children's book, Artie and the Grime Wave.
