More Description
Christian Life Studies Book 1 aims to help students in the first two years of secondary education to explore and respond to a Christian understanding of life. It is underpinned by Biblical theological principles, that aid the exploration of deep questions of life: What is real? Who is God? What's wrong with the world? How should I live?
The book aims to stimulate discussion and learning between students using: the Bible; youth culture, film, music and TV shows; people and events that will resonate with students in Years 7 and 8.
The Biblical focus moves from God as creator through the covenant journey of the Hebrew people, to the coming of Jesus. In the second half of the book, students explore the teachings of Jesus, his death and resurrection, Pentecost and the beginnings of Christianity. The parallel contemporary strand invites students to consider their uniqueness as 'made in God's image' and the choices that flow from this. They are helped to understand their personal growth, the importance of relationships, and the possibilities for fruitful engagement in the world today.
