Grosseteste is a crucially important figure in the history of medieval English thought. His commentary on the Biblical account of the Creation - masterly reconciliation of the learning of East and West - presents a rich account of the unity of the medieval outlook in which the study of God includes the study of the whole world. This translation complements the highly acclaimed Latin text edition of the Hexaëmeron by Dales and Gieben (OUP, 0-19-726099-3).
