This volume contains 58 previously unpublished sermons of John Henry Newman. Half of them date from 1824-1826 when Newman was a curate at St Clement's, Oxford and Evangelical in his beliefs. Most of the others were preached in his early days as Vicar of St Mary's, Oxford. As many were revised and subsequently preached again, they are important for an understanding of the growth of his spiritual theology.
