Idan Ben-Barak is an author. His first book, Small Wonders: how microbes rule our world, won the 2010 American Association for the Advancement of Science/Subaru SB&F (Science Books and Films) Prize for Excellence in Science Books, Young Adult category. His book, Why Aren't We Dead Yet, made the Bragg UNSW Press Prize for Science Writing 2015 shortlist. Do Not Lick this Book was published in May 2017. It won the 2018 Children's Book Council of Australia Book of the Year, Eve Pownall Award for Information Books.
