More DescriptionSelected Proceedings of the 19th Biennial Conference of the International Association on Water Quality, held in Vancouver, BC, Canada, 21-26 June 1998. IAWQ's 19th biennial exceeded all expectations in the quality and extent of its programme. From a record number of submissions, a record total of 366 papers were selected for oral presentation, striking an attractive balance of research and practically orientated presentations. High quality was ensured by an extensive review process, which enabled the revision and updating of many of the papers that were then selected for publication. Part 6 contains 32 selected papers from the sessions on Environmental Restoration and on Hazard Assessment, Monitoring and Control of Environmental Contaminants. These papers, by many of the worlds leading experts, constitute an unrivalled wide-ranging and authoritative compilation of current research into the impacts of pollutants (organic and inorganic) on water systems, analyses of the fate, transport and toxicity of such substances, and studies of laboratory, plant and in situ methods for treatment and restoration.
