The symposium, held 17-23 March 2014, also integrated youth and inter-generational dialogue with the "Voice of the Future" strand. Transversal knowledge and multidisciplinarity across cultures and languages shaped the content and structure of the e-book. The nine, richly illustrated chapters contain three types of entries, based on the presentation given as part of the Symposium: "Splash"- project overview, "Ripple"- detailed project description, and "Wave"- peer-reviewed article on original research. Contents:1- Opening - performances: Ulay, Jason Lim and online-performers2- Voice of the Future - youth projects: performances, conservation campaigns...3- Activism, Art & Science - projects catalysing change at many levels4- Art & Science - interdisciplinary dialogue and interaction5- Hydrology - Past & Future - from India, Greece, Tunisia, California and Australia6- Conservation & Transmission - water rights, festivals, cultural heritage and museums7- Care & Dare - water values re-envisaged by community groups8- Performance - live art, outdoor actions and online-performances designed for Waterwheel's creative collaboration interface 'the Tap'9- Hydrosonics - a sound art festival hosted at NYU by Ear to the Earth3WDS14 proceedings edited by Suzon Fuks, published by Igneous Inc., Brisbane, Australia. | |
