More DescriptionThis book is a companion book to the Annual Canberra Christian Writers' Group (CCWG) Anthology ISSN 2652-4112 (Print) ISSN 2652-4120 (online) It describes what led to the formation of the Canberra Christian Writers' Group and the intention of the Annual Anthology that is collated, edited, published and designed by Dianne Porter. The mission of CCWG is that 'We Plan to Publish!' as to book title clearly states. Our goal is to harvest the words of our hearts so others can read them. There is a report on the 2021 Anthology Published in November 2021, an outline of the benefits to contributors of participating and a low cost action plan for publishing the Annual Anthology for as low a cost as possible. Dianne Porter also shared her journey into self -publishing and intention to support writers she knows, Christian Writers in particular. Her own journey into self publishing has been challenging and costly because she had no support from the self publishing industry that seemed useful to her. The complicated and expensive self publishing packages seemed to disempower rather than empower her to meet her vision for her book My Mother's Way of Dying Well (2014) and My Mother's Way of Dying Well Revisited (2021). Her work with other authors through Canberra Christian Writers' Group has been much more edifying and helpful so her hope is to keep this group going as long as she can. Seeing the published work of skilled authors in print for the first time is deeply satisfying. This book is a resource that hopes to equip others to discover low cost solutions to getting themselves published using software and equipment that are common in most homes today. Her methods can be tailored to meet the needs of other writers wanting to explore low cost ways to self publish their work.
