Into this region marched the Rhodesian Pioneers to challenge Lobengula, King of the Ndebele nation. This Zulu tribe had only sixty years earlier seized this land from the Shona.Into this mix of different tribes and cultures are added the Boers; the white tribe of Africa. They are involved in the various conflicts and shifting alliances. In the end the Pioneers will prevail and establish Rhodesia, which will survive as a country into the twentieth century.
