Hero is a sci-fi superhero story about teenage twins with a strange power that links them and conflicting destinies that put them in the center of a power struggle between two men responsible for crippling a once powerful nation. Nikki and Michael are twin orphans who've been living on the streets in the free zones of city after city for ten years. They've been scraping by trying to both capitalize on and conceal the fact that they have a bizarre shared power. Any injury to one of them heals and strengthens the other. Having run away from their last foster home at the age of seven, the twins have no idea where they came from or why they have such a link. When a high-profile job exposes their ability in public like never before, a powerful war hero known as Savior, a man who seems to know more about their origins than anyone, puts them at the center of his plans to revive a project that nearly destroyed the nation. But Savior isn't the only one hunting the twins. Marcus Gideon was Savior's partner on the original Gateway project. Where the accident gifted Savior with incredible powers and seemingly eternal youth, it left Gideon disfigured and plagued by visions of a future he is obsessed with preventing. His visions have shown him that one of the twins could destroy Savior, but the other could make him more powerful the ever. Unfortunately, Gideon doesn't know which twin will help his enemy and which will stop him once and for all. He and his team of displaced soldiers are determined to discover the truth of the twins? destinies, but to do that they have to keep Nikki and Michael out of Savior's hands and under control.
