GRAFFITI - ON THE BEACH is the first in a series of photo books featuring graffiti on the walls at Ocean Beach in San Francisco. Consider them an often changing statement by artists, in which they add letters, names, words, pictures, and messages. These images may last for days, even months, until torn down by passing park rangers or another artist. They are like an anthropological record of the artists who had their art work on display when I took the photos. I first put the photos on a 1-2 minute video featuring the images flipping by one at a time and set to music. Now I have put these same images into a book. There will be five books with the images taken in two hours one sunny day in early September 2013. Each book in the series will have 25-35 images, and then they will all be combined into a single book with about 150 images.In this book, the images are organized into these key categories:* On the Wall* Walls and Gulls* Writing on the Wall* Written Large* Say What?* A Message to All
