More DescriptionFrom high school dropout to university graduate with a major in philosophy, from part time farm worker to international banker, from the Midwest to the winding streets of Boston, to the waters of the Bahamas, to the multi-culture of South Texas, Lawrence Cooper has traveled. He was not always interested in writing. It was while he was in banking that the bug bit him. He left banking. Writing courses at Harvard and at the Boston Center for Adult Education sharpened his interest, but not immediately in poetry. Indeed, he had no special liking for poetry, despite favorable comments from teachers and fellow students. One day, while standing on the outbound platform of Boston's Back Bay station, waiting for the New York train, he watched the massive diesel engine emerge from the dark tunnel and thought "That is poetry!" Since then, for the last thirty years, the emphasis of his writing has been poetry. This collection is a sampling of his travels. This book is a bit of a "catch-all", in that it is not edited for the "best seller list" but is more of a legacy. So, if you don't think much of one poem, please try some of the others. At times a raindrop Hangs on the end of a branch In the course of things. Enjoy, LC
