Flint and Steel picks up where You Cannot Serve Two Masters leaves off. It continues the saga of a Scottish woodsman carving a life for his young family out of the virgining American frontier. As imperialist tyranny continues to encroach and threaten his family's freedom and safety, Jedidiah Cole feels increasingly forced to push back hard against the crown forces responsible. Times are harsh and deadly. Many have already been killed; others have lost everything through confiscation or burning. To further confound the volunteer rangers' efforts to protect the settlers, a new form of warfare has visited the frontier. A far-reaching terror weapon. Sniping! A vicious killer has been introduced to the area. He is exceptionally cold and lethal in his task. He shows no regard for age or gender as his murderous command harasses the settlers trying to force them into subjection by fear before an all-out insurrection can be mounted.
