More DescriptionImagine the scene; a meeting of the town council in a small provincial town in England. A local business man has proposed building a narrow gauge railway along the High Street, across the middle of the market place, in front of the town hall to terminate at a station squeezed between Woolworths and WH Smiths (or whatever the Victorian equivalent was).It wouldn't have stood a chance, would it!In France, it not only happened, it was positively encouraged. A town without a railway or tramway couldn't hold its head up high, it wasn't really fit to call itself a town at all. It would have averted its gaze, ashamed to be in the company of real towns that did have a railway running along the High Street! This of course was a delight to the enthusiast, although slightly less so to those unfortunate enough to have invested money is such concerns. Not many survived to see out the 1930's. With so many little lines to choose from there is a cornucopia of wonderful scenes to inspire the modeller; this book presents a selection that I find irresistible. I hope you enjoy than as much as I do.
