More DescriptionThe exciting second installment of "The Seed Cycle" takes the reader to Earth in the twenty-third century. Brandle, CEO of the IAC, or Interstellar Agricultural Commodities, has just been killed. Insurgents have crippled the giant and only one executive remains alive: Joe Hawksley. The former Vice President for Acquisitions assumes Brandle's throne. He enlists help from unsavory sources, including the last Bubba clone, to save what remains of the crumbling Corporation. Corporation interstellar holdings have also suffered and many of the Bubba clones have perished in the revolt. Four surviving Bubbas team up and turn pirate, their targets are any Corporation vessels still in space. These unfortunates are damaged, stripped, and left to drift. One crippled craft manages to get to Assaria 7, the new homeworld of the Caretakers and Suscrofa. Francis Smith, the Bubba that helped Gareth Tranwyr take down the Corporation on Tregas, now lives there as well. Twelve years have passed since the take-over, but the clone has yet to be accepted. "The Smiths" reveals much about the clones and the Corporation that exploited them, as well as the mysterious Suscrofa. "The Seed Cycle" is much more than a simple story about "good vs. evil", or even power, corruption, exploitation, and manipulation.. Although these themes are present in abundance, the series is also about redemption and the resilience of the human spirit.
