As a young man, Major was taught the value of hard work by his adoptive parents. In the Navy, he found he had a real gift for mechanics. He met the love of his life, Erna after he was honorably discharged - and swore he'd never marry.Erna changed that! Through their middle years, raising daughters Cindy and Pam, Major and Erna worked hard and met everyday obstacles one by one. Their retirement was spent together doing hobbies and living at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. Then Erna's passing changed Major's life. What was he left with? He struggled with his PTSD and other health issues from his days in the service. Erna had always worried about him. But he passed his time working on stained glass windows and refurbishing tractors and antique equipment. He met a high school friend, Marge, who has been his recent companion. Now, Major's struggles are tempered by time and the knowledge of knowing he has a life that's been well-lived. Major's story is one we all can take heart in.
