More Description
We each have a spiritual gift, from God. This gift shows up in ways we may not realize.
- It affects the way we communicate; the filter and tone we use. The words we choose. The reason we speak and seek to be heard in the first place.
- It affects how we approach problems; the kind that call for the strength we bring, thanks to our spiritual gift.
- It affects the purpose we seek to fulfill this side of heaven; the essence of our true vocation.
Coming into greater alignment, therefore, with this gift impacts almost every area of life, work, and/or ministry. It's important to know our gift and be able to frame it for others; to know what we're about, and what we're not. To discern where to engage and where to conserve energy. When to say yes and when to say no, based on who we are and how we function.
This book is about coming into greater alignment with the God-given gift within you, as found in Ephesians 4:11 and realizing all that it means for you and yours. There are lots of different kinds of gifts, but the five I explore here are found in Ephesians 4:11.
They are the gift of the Teacher, Pastor, Evangelist, Apostle, and Prophet. I call them the 5 Navigators.
As a professional Christian writer and speaker this is a topic close to my heart. And as a poet, workshop, and retreat leader, it's important to me that you are able to apply the insights I share here to your own life, work, and/or ministry. I write on the spiritual or inner life with God. This means I invite you to take what's seasonal and authentic to you, and leave the rest. I hold it all lightly. Although I do know several people who have engaged with these ideas and found them life-changing; a deep blessing to themselves and others.
I am always happy to hear feedback from people learning about the Five Spiritual Gifts and how they show up in our interactions and vocational pursuits.
5 Navigators: aligning with your God-given spiritual gift. There is light for the path ahead.
