Each of the 40 poems is accompanied by a large black and white illustration on the opposite page, suitable for coloring or taking out of the book, if desired. The detailed drawings are ancient emblems of moral and divine instruction that were collected into volumes in 1635 by George Wither.
In this collection, Collection One, the original illustrations have been edited and cleaned up from dark, original scans, so that readers can enjoy personalizing their books by coloring with colored pencils (or with markers, if the pages are removed).
