More DescriptionHow could a boy dream when in his childhood he was raised only by an uncle and when it was time to be enrolled in Coulourds primary school he was rejected and ethnicity denounced? When he was born again as a new Christian and first went to church, the elders told him he was too smart to be a member of their congregation? How could a man dream, when in his first year of Bible college he was expelled and told that God would not call a person like him to service (an action which was fortunately reversed)? When he arrived in QwaQwa, a fresh graduate from that Bible College to begin his fulltime school ministry, he was then told that a handsome person like him would not survive the ladies in the learning institutions. How could he dream, when although he was appointed the acting general secretary of the Students' Christian Movement, he was not given a fair chance to show his potential? How could he dream of a good family life when his support for his wife's studies and career led others to tell him he was not serious about God's work and when she went to work overseas, that he would not survive staying alone? How could he dream, when he resigned from the Students' Christian Movement and was told it was over for him? This man is George Tromp and like Daniel life has put him not only in the lion's den but also in the fire only for him to discover that he was not alone, that God had been with him all these years, leading up to the writing of this autobiography and the three volumes of his book on student ministry. Despite all the setbacks, through the Sovereignty of God, he went on to travel the loneliest road in student ministry for over three decades. As an ordained pastor he only read about pastoral benefits at the Bible college but found none in the field of ministry where God deployed him. Nonetheless, he dedicated his life to the youth of his Nation and went on to establish The George Tromp Legacy of Hope Foundation to share his experience with future generations of students and youth workers.
