More DescriptionThis book is the story of Eli Lev. His life story spans across four continents and eight decades. Eli's life was not easy, but he was never broken and never let life beat him. His wife died at a young age. His potentially promising sports career was cut short when he lost the ability to play ice hockey. He lost his job and had to live a life bordering on poverty during the Great Depression and nearly died several times during World War II. Later in life he chose to immigrate to Israel and start a new chapter. Light-years away from the culture he knew and without family support, he built something from nothing. In Israel, he immediately started to improve the life of those around him, and throughout his lifetime he concentrated his efforts on giving to others. He helped the political party, the Kibbutz, underprivileged towns, families in need, laborers employed in the kibbutz, regional integration, sports and on and on. He also joined the Israeli Secret Service - The Mossad. The fact that so little is known about his activities in this area only highlights the greatness of this man. He did things because of their political and national importance and not in order to gain any political capital or public recognition. Eli was an exemplary family man, a Zionist, a socialist, and an Israeli patriot. Alone he walked through life with his doubts, his pains and successes. Many came in contact with him, but very few knew him.
