More DescriptionThe Minnesota State Pigeon Association (MSPA) is a common-interest club of hobbyist breeders and exhibitors of purebred pigeons. The great majority of its members are residents of the state of Minnesota, but its membership includes hobbyists from other states in the upper Midwest and elsewhere around the USA. For over 70 years the MSPA has sponsored an annual competitive exhibition, now known as The MSPA North Star Classic All Age/All Breed Pigeon Show, which draws a sizeable entry and numerous exhibitors from all over the region. The club also sponsors related educational meetings, public outreach activities, and other informative media, all aimed at promoting and supporting the age-old hobby of breeding, exhibiting, and generally caring for purebred pigeons of all kinds. This book describes the original founding of the MSPA in 1946 and its growth and development over the ensuing 15 years. As such, it is primarily of interest to contemporary members of the MSPA who have a special interest in the early history of the organization and the lessons that history provides with respect to ensuring the continued success of the organization in the 21st century.
