Author Biography
Lieberman, Michael (Author)
Barbara Whitehead was born in Sheffield in 1930 and has lived in Yorkshire all her life. She spent many years in York setting her York Cycle of Mysteries there. Known mainly for her crime stories she has written many other books including a Bronte novel entitled Charlotte Bronte and her 'Dearest Nell': The Story of a Friendship. Written in collaboration with John Nussey (descended from Ellen's brother John), it is the story of Charlotte Brontes lifelong friendship with Ellen Nussey.

Whitehead saved the Birthplace of the Bronte sisters from being separated and sold by buying the home and moving in herself. She has restored the house to most of it's original pieces and has opened a visitors center and gift store.
