A young boy finds a wartime diary in the early sixties which tells the story of a mysterious package that had belonged to Heinrich Himmler. The package, which was reputed to hold a powerful secret, had found its way to an army clearing hospital in 1945. A ruthless Nazi group has followed the trail of the package to Manchester, getting ever closer to their quarry. A wounded soldier, who looks as though he knows the secret location, disappears with his nurse and the police are also now involved in a plot that gets more complicated. Two decades later a school essay sees the hunters and the police in a frantic race to locate the package. Wherever it is hidden, the diary holds the key.
