More DescriptionLearning written Chinese symbols, called characters, is essential to mastering the Chinese language as well as all other writing systems derived from the Chinese family of scripts such as Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese. To say this script is complex is an incredible understatement; a single misplaced dot or extra overlap of lines can change the entire meaning of the character and create some unfortunate (and sometimes funny) misunderstandings. At the same time, Chinese is also a tonal language consisting of many homophones. Learning the Chinese written characters will also help you obtain a much better understanding of the language and the ability to avoid many embarrassing moments.By attempting to teach students to write characters in only traditional constant practice and memorization, one can only reach unsatisfactory results. Young learners especially will have to overcome both the difficulty of the writing system as well as the non-challenging, tedious repetition of traditional instruction. In time, these methods will only drain students' motivation with very little results to show. Therefore, I created a special technique which first introduces the stroke order, then allows the student to trace and write the character on their own.I hope this book will help students broaden their learning of the Chinese language.
