More DescriptionSome would refer to Antarctica as The White Continent, for others it is The Last Continent. As a traveling American couple of Bangladeshi origin, we - Sarmin and Bahar - love to call this the End of the world. Together we have traveled to all the seven continents. But Antarctica has captured a special place in our hearts. When we reminisce about our journey to this mysterious continent we still wonder, was it real? Does this place really exist? For millennia, the continent remained out of reach for humans, and was only discovered just over a century ago. Modern Antarctic expeditions are nowhere near as dangerous and heroic as it used to be for the early explorers, even though some challenges still exist. There are a few 5-star ice-class modern ships that sail to this wonderland while providing safety and luxury through harsh weather conditions. To most travelers, Antarctica is nothing short of a fairyland. Words are not able to do justice when it comes to describing one's experience with this continent. This book nevertheless makes a sincere effort to take the readers through a two-week long journey from Punta Arena, Chile to Antarctica and back. Through words and pictures this book attempts to present itself as a window to the places we have visited along with the depictions of the awe-inspiring experiences any traveler to Antarctica would be exposed to, that include its amazing wildlife, the grand silence transpired by its ambience, the fear-inducing weather and sea conditions as well as the solitude offered by this unearthly place. We maintain a website, Travelograph PartsUnknown (www.travelographpartsunknwon.com), to document our journeys and experiences. This book is published under the banner of Travelograph PartsUnknown.
