You fell in love at first sight, because you knew he was the man of your dreams, and you couldn't wait to say your vows. You were ready to live up to the standards in which you learned to do. After one week you stood and looked your soulmate in his eyes, and repeated your vows, "I take you my love, to have and to hold from this day forward. For better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health. To love and to cherish, till death do us part, and thereto I pledge you my faithfulness." You said the vows because the pastor told you to repeat them, not knowing what they meant; you just wanted the man. Listening to your mother, she told you, the husband is the head, and you are the tail; you must submit to him in every way. You tried to obey her and the principle of the vows, but you encountered brutal physical violence.
