Chapter One discusses the dielectric and microwave absorbing properties of epoxy composites which are comprised of nanocarbon and/or inorganic particles. Chapter Two examines the use of electromagnetic heating enhanced with magnetic nanoparticles to perform cryopreservation of a large volume cell suspension. Chapter Three reviews the current state of the art and perspectives on clay-epoxy nanocomposites. Chapter Four provides an overview of the process to synthesize hematite nanoparticles and an examination of their applications. Chapter Five reviews a process to synthesize nano- and microstructured layers of silver via the photo and thermal destruction of polyvinyl alcohol with silver nitrate. Chapter Six reviews the application of polyvinyl alcohol as a stabilizer for nanoparticles and the formation of nanocomposites.
