More DescriptionAfter expending his last 15 years studying Hassidic Judaism, being tutored by many teachers about Jewish history and having read the works of many critical scholars, Xus Casal (one of the authors from 13petals.org) came to the conclusion that the "Christian" Gospels do not support traditional "Christian" theology, as that was a later theological development. The Gospels are undoubtedly 1st Century Jewish material, written by Jews and focusing on a Jewish Messiah; but have been wildly misinterpreted. Yeshua (a.k.a. Jesus) of Nazareth was a real historical figure, a Galilean "Orthodox" Jew, a teacher of Torah, who lived in the theology and traditions of a 1st Century Jewish world. The Gospels depict him more Jewish than what people actually realize. This essay, about how to properly interpret the Gospels was born as a compilation of answers for the author's community, as they were continuously exposed to unscholarly commentaries and the bias of mythicists. Although there's a clear connection between Hassidic thought and the Gospels theology, this work doesn't side nor support any theological denomination. It is mostly based on critical scholarly studies.
