A pledge of future marriage between King Julien's son Adrien Laurent and King Richard's granddaughter Annette Bethina would be the basis of the treaty between the two countries and a trip across the sea was planned so that one year old Annette could be approved of by the King and Queen of Nantes. Agreements were made and papers were signed before Prince Elliot and Princess Joanna took their baby back to the ship to sail back to Penarth.
