More DescriptionThe Art+Energy kit offers an innovative solution for science education that promotes deeper understandings of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art/Design, Math) objectives and their application in real world situations. It teaches about the importance of sustainability in design and builds the pragmatic problem solving skills needed to address solutions for 21st century energy challenges. The fifteen cards and a booklet offer science & math exercises within the framework of sustainability and creativity, understandings of renewable energy technologies, creative tools, a glossary of important terminology, and more. The cards contain full color images of past LAGI submissions--large-scale public artworks that generate utility-scale clean energy--with lessons about the types of technology used and exercises to calculate the design electrical output of the artworks. Questions teach students about demand-side efficiency by comparing the number of homes of varying efficiencies that each artwork could offset.
