Barbara Bickmore taught English, French, American literature, and creative writing in high school before becoming a full-time writer. Her first book, East of the Sun, was published in 1988. Her other novels included Stairway to the Stars, West of the Moon, Deep in the Heart, and Beyond the Promise. She died on February 23, 2015.
