Brad and Jeffery are having the night of their lives when tragedy strikes like a slaughtering hammer to a cow's skull. After a fatal meeting with the Butter Boys, they will never be the same.

Investigative reporter Veronica Hensley works on facts and instinct. After being taken off of her story following a series of strange abductions in the San Diego town of Hillcrest, she goes rogue, and what she finds is a bloody mess no one could have unraveled.

Mayor Muller will do anything to get his numbers up, especially in a reelection year. He'll kiss a baby, shake some hands, even agree to appear at a state chili cook off with that Fontaine guy who runs the Broth House soup kitchen. Ol' greasy Muller will do whatever it takes to win.
