Author Biography
Jones, D. G. (Author)
Douglas Gordon Jones was born in Bancroft, Ontario, Canada on January 1, 1929. He received a bachelor's degree from McGill University in 1952 and a master's degree from Queen's University in 1954. He taught at the Royal Military College in Kingston, the University of Guelph, and Bishop's University before receiving a professorship at the University of Sherbrooke. He taught there until his retirement in 1994.

His first book, Frost on the Sun, was published in 1957. His other books included Phrases from Orpheus and Butterfly on Rock. He received the Governor-General's Award in 1977 for Under the Thunder the Flowers Light up the Earth and in 1993 for Categorics One, Two and Three. He died on March 6, 2016.
