More DescriptionThe fog of now. Everything, all the time. My first plague. Essential work. Thresholds. Fully unrested. A pivotal moment. Perception management. All this will feel like a dream someday. On March 24, 2020, Minneapolis-based artist Piotr Szyhalski embarked on a daily drawing practice responding to the COVID-19 pandemic as it unfolded in real time. What began as a way for him to share observations of life in lockdown and the pain caused by the pandemic quickly became a daily exercise of chronicling his thoughts and feelings and reconciling them with the changes being wrought in the world. In total, 225 ink drawings--a new one made each day for eight months--were posted on social media (@laborcamp), serving as a witness to the unfolding crises and a record of time, both labored and lost. The project established an ongoing dialogue with audiences, in public and private, that continues today. The reports call us to action, ask us to question what is happening in our world, and most importantly, inspire hope and solidarity. This volume features all of the drawings and companion texts. Each book in this artist edition is numbered and signed.Whether it's the story of love, trust, and empathy or the story of grief and pain. Loss, despair, and surrender or the story in which we persevere, overcome, survive, and flourish. Our story is made of time ?
