More DescriptionIn our economy, much Information is floating between companies, customers, governments, cloud providers, network infrastructures, and outbound global internet connections. The (digital) Information is increasing daily, and "new" technologies like the Cloud, Big Data, Smart Cities, Mobile Apps & the Internet of Things are being used by governments and companies in a new way of economics. All Information is interconnected by the internet 24/7 and is accessible anytime and anywhere. Information is the "new "gold for companies; therefore, this Information (for example, intellectual property & customer data) must be considered a valuable asset of your company. Protecting these assets, especially in the new age (digital Knowledge age), is essential to handle Information as an asset with value. To secure this asset, we need to build a cyber strategy to protect us against cyber warfare, hackers, and other cyber threats. In the traditional way of protection, we have a defensive human workforce to protect our information assets. If we look at the growing amount of everyday Information and the increasing threat, the traditional approaches could be more workable and cost-efficient. Another issue is the need for more cyber security professionals to protect information overload against the rising cyber threat.
A new paradigm is needed. New technologies that help us detect and protect ourselves if we are under a cyber-attack will be tomorrow's cyber strategy. Machines will be the new employees of tomorrow's workforce (I call Generation AI) and will also be a part of the cyber defense industry. Another approach is redesigning the access and the Identity checks on how we access the Information. New technologies like blockchain can help to protect the Information by automatically having built-in integrity and authentication checks in the blockchain architecture.
