The author was a prison officer in Ghana when Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings seized power in 1979 and again in 1981and served directly under Captain Kojo Tsikata when it came to carting some of those suspected of making attempts to overthrow the then military Government led by Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings into various prisons. He was in office, in active service when Captain Kojo Tsikata instructed him to arrange the transfer of the main suspect in the murders of those three Ghanaian Judges and the retired Army officer into one of the prisons in Accra.The author managed to speak with Amartey Quaye (the alleged leader of the suspects) on some of his visits to Ussher Fort Prison and was on duty to supervise his removal from the prison to the Firing Range at Teshie to face the firing squad. The author was in office during investigations into those horrific murders and learnt a lot.It has been a while and much has been said in Ghana about those murders.Those murders remain fresh, horrible and inexplicable in Ghana.Rumours still persist; accusing fingers are still pointed at some individuals.Ghanaians have never come to terms with whatever has been said in the past.The author has decided to let others know about the little that he knew and let them analyse what he has to say and decide for themselves.This is not an attempt to identify unknown culprits. Rather, It is an attempt to let others read about the little that he learnt pertaining to those horrific murders, the very little the main suspect was prepared to divulge and the little that he knew about some of the suspects.
