When a skeleton is unearthed in modern-day Kailua, it's identified as the engineer of the midget sub. The sub's logbook indicates that he and the commander of the sub came ashore after the attack and blended in with the Japanese-American population.
When the local news catches wind of the story, the race is on between the navy investigators and an unscrupulous reporter. All three are now on the hunt for a calculating naval commander who has spent decades perfecting his cover identity. Will they be able to find this chameleon and solve a historical mystery?
