Through her mystical companion 'Charlie' she discovers many more children have vanished over the years. Their ensuing search reveals a hidden existence surrounding Emma's familiar world of 'home' and 'school' where creatures of light and dark struggle for dominance and power.

But time is running out for the creatures of light. Lord Drackan, the Supreme creature of the dark, will soon perform the 'Final Rite' as written in the 'Black Book'. But not even he fully understands the power of the ancient evil living within it's pages.

He will soon encounter an enemy from his past who was emersed in the spirit of the 'Black Book' long before even he, opened it.
